The current controller is con-figured as a PI controller withgain and integral-action timedesigned for armature sup-ply. The feedback can beadapted by soldering-in othercomponents. The current controllers out-put voltage is limited by twolimiting controllers to valuescorresponding to the maxi-mum and minimum con-verter firing-angle setting. The current actual value issensed with a current trans-former and is fed to the cur-rent controller with electricalisolation.

The currentsetpoint is supplied from thespeed controller. The trigger unit generatesthe control pulses for trigger-ing the thyristors, accordingto the output voltage of thecurrent controller.
