ASTM F1554 GRADE 36 PDF

As the name suggests, anchor bolts are used for anchoring structural supports to concrete foundations. The most common uses include building columns, column supports for highway signs, street lighting, traffic signals, steel bearing plates, bridges, and many other applications. The F anchor bolt is currently the most common anchor bolt specification. The F comes in the following materials: carbon, carbon boron, and alloy. The ASTM F anchor bolts also come in three strength grades, two thread classes, and in a range of different sizes. Grade 36 anchor bolts are your standard, low strength, low carbon and weldable steel Anchor Bolt with a minimum yield strength of 36 ksi.

The ASTM F specification was introduced in and covers anchor bolts designed to anchor structural supports to concrete foundations. F anchor bolts can take the form of either headed bolts, straight rods, or bent anchor bolts. The three grades 36, 55, and designate the minimum yield strength ksi of the anchor bolt. Color coding on the end — 36 blue, 55 yellow, and red — helps facilitate easy identification in the field. Permanent manufacturer and grade marking is allowed under the S2 supplementary requirements.

Applications for F anchor bolts include columns in structural steel framed buildings, traffic signal and street lighting poles, and overhead highway sign structures to name just a few. Supplementary requirements shall apply only when specified in the purchase order or contract. Through chemical composition restrictions and by a carbon equivalency formula, S1 provides assurance of weldability.

When S1 is not specified, the Grade 55 material may or may not be weldable. The minimum Charpy V-notch energy requirement is an average of 15ft-lbs for three specimens, with no one specimen falling below 12ft-lbs.

A grade DH or A grade 2H should be substituted. Portland Bolt is operating at full capacity. F Grades F Grade 36 Low carbon, 36 ksi yield steel anchor bolts F Grade 55 High strength, low alloy, 55 ksi yield steel anchor bolts F Grade Alloy, heat treated, high strength ksi yield steel anchor bolts. When Grade 36 is specified, a weldable Grade 55 may be furnished at the supplier's option. Portland Bolt. Stamping of F bolts with manufacturer's identification is a supplemental requirement S2 Color coding is required unless the grade is stamped in accordance with supplemental requirement S3.

ASTM F1554

ASTM F is the standard specification for straight and bent, headed and headless anchor bolts with specific yield strengths. The bolts are manufactured from carbon, carbon boron, alloy, or high-strength low-alloy steel. ASTM F anchor bolts from Glaser and Associates are available in three grades, 36, 55 and , offering different mechanical and chemical properties for specific applications. These anchor bolts are designed, manufactured and tested to comply with the standards set by ASTM F for tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, reduction of area, stress area, nominal size, body diameter, bend section, length, bend angle, and coated length. Anchor bolts from Glaser and Associates are used to anchor structural supports to concrete foundations.

This question was submitted by a Port Authority on the East Coast. Anchor bolts were supplied by another company claiming they met or exceeded the requirements of F grade As it turns out, they did not. Sorry for being late to send you a clear copy of the Mill certification.

ASTM F1554 Grade 36

Lightning Bolt is a fastener manufacturer and premiere supplier of Anchor Bolts in many different styles and materials. F anchor bolts are commonly used during civil construction for commercial and industrial projects. Within the specification it specifies that the supplier can substitute grade 55 weldable for grade 36 at their own discretion. When compared to the other grades within the F specification, grade 36 anchor bolts have the lowest yield strength.
